Wheel thrown ceramic coffee cup, Perfect for medium sized coffees and brushed with white clay slip to create a textured surface.
The tapered shape keeps your coffee nice and hot and features a pulled handle as well as finger marks at the base from hand dipping. The wide base has a sturdy stance on coasters and surfaces yet it feels comfortable and balanced.
How it’s made
Each piece is made with great care and in small batches. They’re hand-thrown and then trimmed on my potters wheel to their final form over roughly 2 days. Once completely dry I carefully transport to a nearby studio and ‘bisque’ fire to 1000 degrees in an electric kiln. Once glazed a second and final firing to 1250 degrees completes the process.
Care Instructions
My pots are made from stoneware clay and are food safe. They can go in the microwave and dishwasher, however washing by hand is recommended to reduce wear and breakages.
Size
Dimensions are approximately 6cm tall and 9.5cm wide at the base with a 8cm opening at the rim. Capacity is roughly 225ml.
